Who We Are

About Us

EAA Chapter 1686, “Sport Aviators at Oakland Airport,” aims to promote EAA’s mission and sport aviation in and around our historic airport community at OAK. This chapter was founded in October 2023.

Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our Chapter.

We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest.

Community

Since our founding, EAA 1686 has hosted gatherings and events with our friends at the Oakland Aviation Museum.

We’re also proud to be part of a vibrant, local, Oakland community that includes Oakland Flyers, East Bay Flight, Alameda Aero Club, Signature Aviation, Sundance Air Services, Kaiser Air, and the Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport.
